We are seeking a Business Development Manager to accelerate our presence in the UK and beyond. Reporting directly to the Global Product & Development Director, you’ll be at the forefront of our ambitious growth strategy.

This is a dynamic, high-impact role where you will manage the full sales cycle for high-value deals. You’ll be crucial in expanding our customer base, driving new sector penetration, and ensuring customer success. Your passion for developing talent and organisational capabilities in a high-growth environment will enable you to balance strategic thinking with rigorous execution.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Growth: Develop and deliver the UK sales strategy, consistently owning and exceeding annual sales targets. Drive lead generation for new sectors and markets.
  • Sales Execution: Formulate and execute sales engagements and negotiation strategies, maintaining a robust pipeline (minimum 5x annual target). Oversee daily sales activities and optimise strategies.
  • Client Relationships: Build and nurture strong, long-lasting customer relationships. Effectively communicate Ligentia’s value proposition through compelling proposals and presentations.
  • Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor customer, market, and competitor activity, providing strategic feedback to leadership. Stay current with industry trends and economic indicators.

 What You’ll Bring:

 Essential

 Considerable experience in a similar business development or sales executive role, with a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding targets.

  • Ability to thrive and operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamically changing environment.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills across all organisational levels, including executive and C-level.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster strong internal and external networks, cultivating senior customer contacts.
  • A sharp understanding of industry best practices for defining customer needs, delivering solutions, and navigating financial, marketing, and operational considerations.
  • A strong understanding of customer needs and behaviours.
  • Proven ability to drive the entire sales process from planning through successful closure.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate the unique value of products and services and position them competitively.

Desirable

  • Experience within the supply chain or logistics industry.
