The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated team player with demonstrated freight forwarding skills specific to transport to join our dynamic transport team in Brisbane. A Melbourne-based arrangement (Truganina Office) may be considered for the right candidate.

Reporting to the National Freight Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating wharf cartage and brokerage deliveries, ensuring efficient and timely transport solutions that meet customer operational requirements. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Arrange wharf cartage for forwarding and brokerage shipments and workflow operations including:
  • Prepare and manage transport documentation (cartage advises, delivery orders).
  • Arrange and schedule local and interstate cartage for import freight (FCL, LCL, airfreight).
  • Liaise with carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external clients.
  • Respond quickly to issues such as missed pickups, delivery delays, damages.
  • Manage/arrange any AQIS/Quarantine directions such as fumigation, tailgate, CCV & IFIP Inspections.
  • Use relevant systems to effect and control workflow coordination.
  • Learn and be able to navigate and use Ligentia systems with internal and external stakeholders (training will be provided).
  • Complete and provide any reports for allocated national customers.
  • Work closely with in-house customs department and import operations regarding clearance of shipments and receiving of EDO’s.

Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience with Cargowise One, 1-Stop, ICS highly regarded
  • Familiarity with port and depot operations, customs clearance, and delivery procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to change
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent time management skills
