On March 20, we hosted our very first Ligentia #CustomerObsessedHackathon, a day all about bringing our Customer Obsessed mindset to life and finding new ways to make a real difference for our customers. It wasn’t just about new ideas or clever tech, it was about unlocking better ways to create value, support customer success, and deliver great experiences. Every idea, every conversation, and every solution had one clear focus: adding customer value and helping them succeed.
Kicking off at noon and running for over 11 hours, the event brought together more than 100 brilliant minds — including 60 Ligentia teammates, trusted partners, students from the University of Leeds, and members of the Nexus community. Everyone came together with one shared goal: to build real, practical solutions that could take how we serve customers to the next level.
We had seven teams, made up of a mix of builders and mentors from across different roles and departments. Each team was given the challenge of coming up with an idea we could actually bring to life. The day was split into three, two-hour sprints to focus on working together, building ideas, and getting ready to present back to the wider group.
By the end of the evening, each team had just 10 minutes to pitch their idea and answer questions from the group. A vote followed, with winners chosen based on the following Customer Obsessed judging criteria:
But the best part? Seeing the energy, collaboration, and creativity that came from people working together, across teams, roles, and departments; all united by a shared purpose. It was especially great to see our UK-based colleagues connect in person and share different views on how we can keep raising the bar for our customers.
Massive shoutout to all the teams who took part, every single group brought something unique and actionable to the table. And big congratulations to the winning team for their brilliant, forward-thinking idea: an AI and big data solution to help our customers stay even better informed about their shipments.
And we’re not stopping there. Work is already underway to bring the idea to life, and we’re really excited about how it’ll help us step up communication and deliver even more transparency, proactivity, and value.
