Value added services (VAS)

Value added services (VAS) are services beyond transport and storage that prepare goods for sale or onward delivery. They can take place at origin, in transit or at destination. Examples include:

  • labelling and ticketing
  • quality control checks
  • kitting
  • repacking
  • garment on hanger conversion.

Why it matters for your supply chain: Completing these tasks earlier in the supply chain can save time and cost later. It also means goods arrive ready for sale.
